1. What should clients expect from a professional coaching engagement?
Contracting, Initial Goal Setting, Assessments, Action Planning, and Evaluation
Contracting = discussing the client's agenda, trust and confidentiality information, relationship building to determine fit and compatibility, the coaching process, logistics of scheduling and costs.
Goal Setting = Coaching outcomes, desired, realistic and measurable goals that are expressed in behavioral terms.
Assessments = Psychometric tests administered by a qualified practitioner, personality assessments, multi-rater 360 degree feedback assessments, results from arranged individual and organizational interviews, and on site client observations.
Action Planning = Reviewing and focusing on the initial goal(s) and actual evidenced changes or roadblocks either in your personal or workplace environment; establishing an atmosphere during coaching sessions to role play and experiment with new ideas and behaviors; a place to brainstorm and create action steps that will bring about measurable results that are aligned with your desired goals. Clients during this stage are provided also a place to problem solve and to gain clarity regarding the role they play within the organizational/social environment.
Evaluation = What are the results of the coaching engagement? There are many ways in which results are determined at this juncture.
